Professional Experience

Teacher of Italian at Columbia High School in Maplewood, New Jersey since September of 1978, also advisor to the school’s Italian Cultural Club.

Committees and Organizations:

Member of The Italian Teachers Association of New Jersey (ITANJ) of which he was the president, from its inception in August of 2000 until June of 2004; he is also a member of the American Association of Teachers of Italian (AATI), the Foreign Language Educators of New Jersey (FLENJ), and the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages (ACITFL); In 2003-2004 he was a member of a national Task Force put together by The College Board, which was charged with creating an outline for the course and drafting the exam specifications for the first AP Italian Language and Culture course to be offered in the United States high schools, in the school year 2005-2006;.

Italian American Affiliations:

Besides being a commissioner for the New Jersey Italian and Italian American Heritage Commission, he is also a member of the following Italian American Associations: Father Vincent Monella Center of Italian Culture of South Orange, NJ; the Center for Italian and Italian American Culture, Inc. of Cedar Grove, NJ; Unico of South Orange and Maplewood and the National Italian American Foundation (NIAF)
