The Ellis Island Museum Presents
Sicilian Crossings to America and the Derived Communities

The Ellis Island Museum

To open the museum’s photography exhibit on Sicilian immigration, the museum will host a conference with various speakers from local universities and government offices. The speakers will discuss the history of Sicilian immigration which will be followed by a gallery opening with wine and movie entitled “Nuovomundo”.
The photos will be on display until February 3, 2008.

Buon Compleano Coro d'Itaia! 
 Italian American Singing and Dancing Ensemble Celebrates it's 75Th Anniversary!

The Coro d'Itlaia Singing and Dancing Ensemble will be celebrating it's Seventy Fifth Anniversary with a gala concert on Sunday November 4 at 3:00 at The Van Fossen Theater 447 Franklin Ave., Bloomfield, New Jersey.   The Coro is America's longest established ensemble dedicated solely to the Italian American musical tradition.  Founded at Columbia University in 1932 the Coro has researched, performed and shared Italian dancing, songs and costuming first in Manhattan and now in New Jersey. The show will feature an array of classic, folk and popular songs, regional dances, and costuming.
