June Study Abroad Program

Santa Margherita Ligure (Genoa)
The Consortium in collaboration with the University of Genoa's DIRE (Dipartimento di Ricerche Europee) will offer a four-week summer program in Italian Language and Culture from June 5 to July 1, 2006 at Santa Margherita Ligure (Genoa). The program will consist of small classes, highly-qualified instructors, lodging in 3-star hotel, breakfast, weekday dinners in a local Trattoria and excursions. The price for the program is 3700 Euros. To celebrate Montclair State University’s new International Summer Institute in Taormina, Sicily, the MSU community will host a Sicilian evening featuring food, wine, raffles and literature about the program. In addition, Joseph Orlando, Sicilian-American Writer and Prominent Maritime Lawyer, will comment on his work, The Fisherman’s Son - a compelling account of the struggles of Sicilian-American families faced with the challenge of upholding traditional cultural values while combating social injustice.

Annual Dinner Dance

The Annual Dinner Dance of the Federation of Italian American Societies of New Jersey will be held on Saturday, November 12th at the Hanover Manor, 16 Eagle Rock Ave. Cocktail reception will begin at 6:30 followed by a full course dinner with an open bar and a Venetian Table. Entertainment will be provided by the Innocenti Band.
The Federation will present the “2005 Man of the Year” Award to Eugenio Sicilano, President of San Marco Ravioli. The “2005 Faithful Service” Awards will also be presented to Louis K. Setfanelli posthumously and Louis Vespasiano, Esq.
