From the Grand Central Terminal and Vanderbilt Hall to the illuminating Italian tricolors atop the Empire State Building to the 63rd Annual Columbus Day Parade up Fifth Avenue, New York will be awash in a joyous celebration Italian Heritage and culture during the 2007 Columbus Week Celebration.

The Italian-American Museum of New York is proud to announce a new exhibit centered around the bi-centennial celebration of the birth of General Giuseppe Garibaldi. “Revisiting Garibaldi”, will run from October 2, 2007 until November 21, 2007, and is curated by Anthony Dilluvio.

20 Week Italian Language Class
Planning a summer vacation to Italy? This Italian class will be held each Friday evening starting October 5th and ending April 11th. The children beginner sessions are offered for ages 4 through 14 from 5:30-6:30. Ages 15 and up are asked to attend the adult beginner through intermediate sessions offered from 6:45-8:15. Please enroll by September 30th through the registration link on the bottom of the page.

The ten week Rosetta Stone Computer Language Program will be used to teach Italian. The sessions consist of 30 minutes of Rosetta Stone, 15 minutes on grammar, and 45 minutes on conversation. The sessions will be on Monday’s, starting October 15th, and last for 10 weeks. 10 people have signed up already.
Additionally, the library is looking for an Italian teacher.

New vision for the Italian American Cultural Center of Philadelphia (IACC)

The reintroducing of the IACC will take place at the building site on Sunday, October 28th, 2007 from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please see the enclosed flyer for the location and more details. We are expecting a tremendous attendance.
The Italian American Cultural Center of Philadelphia will be a place to facilitate community involvement through working partnerships with other community-based organizations thereby creating opportunities to interact with other ethnic groups, while providing a meeting place for social and professional events. The center will be utilized to host wonderful educational, cultural, recreational, and sporting events. The 22 acre site, located in Northeast Philadelphia, will consist of an athletic facility, meeting rooms, banquet hall and outdoor gardens.
Please help us to make this event a success. We invite you and any organization you may be a member or your employer to participate in this event by attending and/or if possible displaying a booth promoting your organization or company. Help us to live up to our motto of “20 Regions 1 Italia”.
