In occasion of the art exhibit, Pucciniana, the tenor Gaston Rivero will be performing several arias by Puccini. Gaston has performed at Carnegie hall more than twenty times in several operas. He has also appeared in the Baz Luhrman Broadway version of La Boheme. Rivero has received first place of the Fritz and Lavinia Jensen Foundation in 2006.

New York City Celebrates the 4th Annual Immigrant History Week

In conjunction with the Mayor of New York’s Immigrant History Week, the Italian American Museum will host a photographic exhibition in black and white by Italian photographer, Salvatore Sparavigna, from April 16 through June 29, 2007. Opening reception will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at 6pm. Salvatore Sparavigna’s photography focuses on Italian American communities: from Brooklyn’s processions to elegant Italian Women and ball room dances.

She has written two books and is currently traveling the world to promote the legacy of her grandfather and encourage women to be more involved in politics.
