The children's musical play, The Legend of La Befana, performed annually in tri-state area venues by Frizzi & Lazzi the Olde Time Italian-American Music & Theatre Company, returns again this season. A list of future performances by Frizzi & Lazzi for the 2007-2008 season follows:

Back by popular demand, Gaetano Salemi, a native Sicilian and expert tour guide for NIAF, will continue his overview of the history of Sicily. Last year Gaetano presented the geology and Greek history of the island. This year he will introduce us to the conquering Arabs and Normans and discuss their legacy in art, architecture and politics.
Julian Gargiulo will be in concert this Sunday, Jan 27th at 8:30 PM at
Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. He will be joined by pianist Maria
Yefimova in a program of solo piano and four-hand music. There will be
an after-party following the performance. (exact location t.b.a.)

THE ITALIAN AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF OCEAN ANNOUNCES ITS CULTURAL CENTER GRAND OPENING ON JANUARY 31, 2008 AT 7:30 PM
OCEAN TOWNSHIP - The Italian American Association of the Township of
Ocean (IAATO) located at 1110 Highway 35 will launch its free lecture
series on Thursday, January 31, 2008 starting at 7:30 p.m. Open to the
public, this event will also showcase the facility's Resource Center,
meeting rooms, classrooms, banquet facility. Refreshments will be
provided.
The January lecture will feature West Long Branch resident, Phillip
Genovese, Jr., the author of The Grandfather Clause, a suspense
thriller. Phil's insight as an author has a unique perspective offered
by his paternal grandfather, Pop Pop Vito -- Don Vito Genovese, the
namesake and Boss of the Genovese Crime Family. A book signing will
follow the presentation. Future events include movies, speakers, as well
as free services.
