Sensitivity and Public Relations Committee

Rationale
The Sensitivity and Public Relations Committee (SAPR) was created to address issues related to negative media representations of Italian Americans and to enhance the visibility of the Commission’s work.

Description
The SAPR is designed to develop and implement a public relations program for the Commission, which is comprised of press releases, CATV programs and other media.  The PRC should also monitor the success of the Commission’s visibility and public relations impact on the community. In addition, the Committee will bring to the Commission’s attention any negative portrayals of Italian Americans in the media

Mission
“The Sensitivity and Public Relations Committee seeks to promote a positive image of Italian Americans through the publicizing of the Commission’s activities and programs.  The Committee also seeks to identify and inform the Commission of negative portrayals of Italian Americans in the media.”
