Government Relations Committee
Rationale
The Government Relations Committee (GRC) was created to improve relationships between federal, state, county and local officials and the Commission. The GRC seeks to maintain and build strong ties with administrators, legislators and executives. By maintaining these relations, the GRC seeks to build support for the Commission’s programs and encourage public participation in the Commission’s activities.
Description
The GRC is comprised of Commissioners who contact, seek out and coordinate with federal, state, county and municipal government agencies to obtain assistance in achieving the goals of the Commission.
Mission
“The Mission of the Government Relations Committee (GRC) is to develop, maintain and enhance relationships between the Commission and the various branches of federal, state, county and municipal government. On behalf of the Commission, the GRC brings issues, recommendations and ideas related to the promotion of Italian Heritage to the appropriate governmental entity.”
